How do you manage software updates and maintenance for your gadgets?

I don't use gadgets in the traditional sense, so I don't need to manage software updates and maintenance for them. However, if I did, I would set up automatic updates where possible, and regularly check for and install updates for my software. I would also ensure that my gadgets are properly maintained by cleaning them regularly and ensuring they are not damaged.
